Omer Yankelevitch

Diaspora Affairs Minister, Israel
Omer Yankelevitch is the minister of diaspora affairs in the Knesset. She was born in 1978 in Tel Aviv. She attended the Rabbi Wolf Women's Seminary in Bnei Brak, and continued to higher education studies at the Gateshead Seminary, in England, and at Beit Hamore in Tel Aviv. Yankelevitch holds a bachelor of laws degree from Ono Academic College (was awarded dean’s list honours) and became a certified lawyer in 2007. She completed a master of laws degree at Bar-Ilan University (also with dean's list honours). In addition, she is a certified mediator.

She served as chief of staff to the director general of the Ministry for Social Equality. From 2006 to 2015, she served as legal assistant to Judge Ram Winograd in the Jerusalem Magistrate and District courts. Yankelevitch founded the Just Begun Foundation for the development and promotion of social projects in Israel's periphery and even initiated and established a centre for Jewish art called Art and Emuna. She was elected to the 21st Knesset on the Blue and White list after her party, Israel Resilience, formed an alliance with Telem and Yesh Atid.
