Dr. Neal Rose received rabbinic ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America (New York) in 1967. In 2017  he was honored with the Jubilee Award,( Rabbinical Assembly of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism) for 50 years of outstanding service in the rabbinate. Dr. Rose was a professor in the Departments of Religion and JudaicStudies at the University of Manitoba (U of M) for over 35 years. After retirement he became the founding Director of Spiritual Care for the Jewish community's long term care home (The Simkin Center) Neal holds a Doctorate in Hebrew Letters from the Hebrew Union College (New York) in Jewish Philosophy. In addition he received an Associate's degree (post-graduate studies for Clergy) in Family Therapy from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Winnipeg. He become a faculty faculty member at the Family Therapy institute (Aroura institute) at the U of W, teaching courses on Loss & Grief as well as Ethnicity & Family Therapy. In addition to his academic position at the U of M, Neal was in private practice as an Interfaith Pastoral Counselor, developing a loyal client base as a Spiritual guide/therapist for many Christian clergy members in Winnipeg. In 2015 Neal (and Carl) received the Lieutenant Governor’s medal for the Advancement of Inter Religious Understanding. Currently serving as a chaplain at the Jewish Family Child Services department of Elder Care, Neal is also the Senior Rabbinic Scholar at Cong. Bnai Amoona, in St. Louis, MO. Neal has been married to his best friend, Carol Rose, for over 50 years. Together they have five children and are a proud grandparents to 16 beautiful grandchildren.
