Campus leaders at the forefront of Israeli-Palestinian alternative peace activism, Noam Sibony, Leena Muti, and Hilly Adler share their perspectives and stories as a joint Israeli-Palestinian Jewish-Muslim team. Their cutting-edge approach to dialogue between parties has shaken up the conversation about Israel-Palestine at York University, and their model for easing campus tensions is currently being spread to campuses across Ontario.

Through confronting the taboo of humanizing the “Other” within both the Israeli and Palestinian communities, they will challenge basic assumptions regarding the mutual exclusivity of claims to land, history, and justice. Their presentation will show that creating a space in which both Israelis and Palestinians feel welcome to share their experiences can yield shocking results. Noam, Leena, and Hilly will also address the harmful dichotomy assumed on university campuses between “us” and “them”, and present an alternate framework to ease tensions between Israeli and Palestinian camps.
