When Cantors Ruled the Earth

This presentation traces the history of Shliach Tzibur, Ba'al T'filah, as it evolved into the sacred calling of Hazzanuth. A variety of cantorial art styles will be explored and analyzed, and musically illustrated by the magnificent voices of Master Hazzanim from the Golden Age of Hazzanuth, as well as others from the 20th and 21st centuries. We will also explore Jewish musical traditions from Eastern and Western Europe, and how they influence contemporary Cantorial styles and the education of the modern Cantorate.
I hope to see you there.
