Welcome to the Opera! Beruchim Ha Baim! what does the classical art of Opera have to do with the young state of Israel, in the middle east? What does it mean to sing in Hebrew, and are there Original Israeli Operas at all? The meeting will begin with the little opera house on the shores of little Tel Aviv, and will go through the development of the New Israeli Opera, the international stars who performed there over the years, the place of opera in the contemporary Israeli culture, original pieces that were produced and even toured the world, festivals, and milestones in the history of Opera in Israel, from a personal point of view of a soloist of the Israeli Opera. during the meeting a selection of excerpts from performances would be played. We would also discuss a wonderful innovation of singers to support their colleagues during Covid-19.
